Calculate your Mercari seller fees using the updated January 2025 fee structure. Determine your net earnings, profit margins, and break-even prices for selling items on Mercari.
Optional: Include if buyer pays for shipping separately
On January 6, 2025, Mercari simplified its fee structure to a straightforward 10% selling fee on all transactions. This new system eliminates the previous payment processing fees and provides sellers with a more transparent and predictable cost structure.
Selling Fee
10% of the item price and buyer-paid shipping (if applicable)
Payment Processing
No additional payment processing fees - included in the 10% selling fee
Total Fee Formula
Total Fee = (Item Price + Buyer-Paid Shipping) × 10%
Here's how the new 10% fee structure works across different price points:
Example 1: $20 Item (Free Shipping)
Selling Fee: $2.00 (10% of $20)
Net Earnings: $18.00 (90% of sale price)
Example 2: $50 Item (Free Shipping)
Selling Fee: $5.00 (10% of $50)
Net Earnings: $45.00 (90% of sale price)
Example 3: $75 Item + $10 Shipping
Selling Fee: $8.50 (10% of $85 total)
Net Earnings: $76.50 (90% of total)
For reference, the old fee structure included variable selling fees plus separate payment processing fees:
• Variable selling fees based on item price and shipping costs
• Additional payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction
• $2 fee for direct deposits under $10
